Working with students and communities, "The Engagement Lab" provides support for a range of services in community engagement, participatory planning, environmental and place-conscious education, evaluation, and small-scale installations. My approach is to work collaboratively to innovate and mentor people in realizing their visions for a more vibrant, healthy, and sustainable future. I love experimenting with new methods for engagement, drawing on best practices and ideas from around the world, to give people voice and help them realize their rights and ideas. The Engagement Lab's approach is based on nearly 30 years of my own experience in community engagement, including through Crane Collaborations, Growing Up Boulder, and the Sustainable City Year Program. This work is grounded in the belief that participation encourages people to care for their environments and that diverse voices are necessary in solving complex problems to support a more sustainable, healthful, and equitable future.
